The Johnston Running Club has hosted its own cross country meet every year since 2012 and will do so again in 2016.

Since 2013, the JRC's home meet has been held at the Johnston High School and features separate races for each age group (8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18).

In 2015, nearly 100 athletes competed from a number of clubs from around Iowa and the Johnston Running Club is aiming to significantly boost meet numbers in 2016.

This year's meet is scheduled for October 9, 2016.
